Cranksgiving is a hybrid event combining components of a bike race, scavenger hunt, and food drive. Here’s how you can get involved in supporting the Goodman Community Center’s Fritz Food Pantry.

Before

In order to participate, all you’ll need is a bike, a lock, and a bag to carry the food items you’ll be picking up along the way.

Participants should meet at the Capitol by 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.

During

Each rider will be provided with a manifest outlining which items to pick up and where to find them. Once you collect all of the items, you’ll drop them off at the Goodman Community Center and hightail it to the finish line (Young Blood Beer Company’s Northstreet taproom).

While this is a low-pressure “race,” first, second, and third place finishers will get a shoutout at the afterparty.

Afterparty

At Northstreet, 557 North St., $1 from every Nice Haircut Mark McGrath beer purchased will be donated to the cause.
