Apply for Black Girl Magic’s Youth Leadership Board

Black Girl Magic Educational Services is closing applications for its Youth Leadership Board this week. Girls in 4th-10th grade are encouraged to apply.

Does your daughter have a knack for leadership? Black Girl Magic Educational Services is a local nonprofit dedicated to nurturing natural talents, leadership abilities, and decision-making processes. The organization is currently accepting applications to join its Youth Leadership Board (YLB).

  • Who | Depending on the number of submissions, roughly a dozen 4th-10th grade girls who identify as Black or African American will be appointed.
  • What | Those selected for the YLB will serve as advisors to the Black Girl Magic team. Duties include brainstorming ideas and improvements for community betterment and programs.
  • When | Applications are due by this Friday, Aug. 25, and you’ll be contacted by Tuesday, Sept. 5 if your daughter is chosen. The board will meet one Sunday a month during the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Where | Besides its annual conference, Black Girl Magic Educational Services hosts a variety of programs and events year-round all over the city. The YLB will provide input on activities like volunteer opportunities, family fun nights, and mindfulness camps.
