  • Madison’s Common Council proposed 16 amendments to Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway’s $266.5 million 2024 executive capital budget. Amendments include more funding for John Nolen Drive reconstructions and a nonprofit loan program. The budget will undergo further review before adoption on Monday, Nov. 13. (Daily Cardinal)

  • On Saturday, Red Caboose Child Care Center opened its new 21,000-sqft facility at 2346 Winnebago St. The move allows the center to triple its capacity, accommodating 153 children, including infants and toddlers. The facility offers nature-based playgrounds and dedicated infant and toddler rooms. (Cap Times)

  • The Milwaukee Bucks are wasting no time in selling Damian Lillard jerseys after announcing his acquisition in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard retains his jersey No. 0, which was previously worn by MarJon Beauchamp, who will switch to No. 3.(WKOW)

What’s new in Madison’s retail, restaurant, and housing scenes?

Some changes are on the horizon for the Madison-area business and housing scene.

Madison Yards
EO Madison Yards celebrated the grand opening of a new apartment complex near Hilldale, part of a 21-acre mixed-use development project. This campus-like project will also include a 50,000-sqft Whole Foods, 142,000 sqft of offices, 11,000 sqft of retail space, and a public plaza.

Ahan
This James Beard Award-winning restaurant is moving from the Bur Oak to a larger space on Willy Street. Today is its last day at 2262 Winnebago St., it’ll be closed until at least Tuesday, Oct. 10. Stay tuned for more information on when the new space at 744 Williamson St. will be open for business.

Greenway Station additions
In addition to a J. Crew and Cooper’s Hawk Winery, Greenway Station announced that it will also soon be home to a Land’s End.
