Grab your cheeseheads — football season is back. Dive into all things game day before the Packers’ first 2023 game on Sunday, Sept. 10.

What everyone’s talking about:

Love is in the air this football season. Jordan Love, that is. Now that Aaron Rodgers is with the New York Jets, Jordan Love has stepped up to replace the four-time MVP Super Bowl champ as the Packers’ starting quarterback.

Fans, experts, and even Rodgers himself are optimistic about Love’s performance this upcoming season.

“He’s got all the talent in the world. They’ve got a really young team, so he’s got an opportunity to be exactly who he wants to be and be the leader that he wants to be. I’m excited for him.”

  • Download the Packers app which will give you access to an interactive stadium map.
  • Your mobile ticket will have a specific gate listed on it, get to your designated gate early for efficient entry.
  • Merchandise and concessions are cashless, so keep your cards on hand.

UW-Madison’s fall semester commences today, and we have a few tips for both locals and students this fall semester.

Locals

Passing times | Traversing the isthmus is hard enough without the added obstacle of college pedestrians. If you’re committed to dodging the crowds, check out the standard class hours to get an idea of when most classes will be released on any given day.

Homecoming | Expect busy bars and restaurants, and general rowdiness on campus the week of Monday, Oct. 2 for the 175th UW-Madison homecoming celebration.

Students

September course drop deadlines:
  • Wednesday, Sept. 13 | Drop a course without it showing up on your transcript as dropped
  • Friday, Sept. 15 | Drop a course and receive a full tuition adjustment
  • Friday, Sept. 29 | Drop a course and receive a 50% tuition adjustment

After a year at UWM, I spent my sophomore-senior years at UW-Madison. My advice to freshmen? Find a friend in every class.

You don’t have to become lifelong besties, but having someone you can shoot a text to for notes, homework help, or to commiserate with makes the experience feel a lot less daunting.
