*Yawnnnnnnnn* — oh, goodness. Excuse us. We almost hibernated straight through our first 7 p.m. sunset.

That’s right — Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 9 at 2 a.m., bringing us the first surefire sign that warmth and sunshine is slowly returning to us. Of course, spring showers will keep us carrying umbrellas for awhile, but at least it won’t be snow.

Here’s what to expect as Madison defrosts.

It looks like Madison is most likely on track for an average spring.

Temperature

With an even chance of either higher or lower than average temps, this spring is likely to be pretty ordinary. Expect those temps to start to become noticeably more comfortable around April before we start to see serious shorts weather in May.

Precipitation

Expect slightly more precipitation. Madison has a 33-40% chance of seeing above-normal rainfall amounts this spring. You’ll likely stay a little soggy, so keep those rain boots close at hand.
