🍂 Fallin’ for you

We won’t complain about a slightly warmer fall. | Map via NOAA
We know the question on your mind this week, Madisonians — when’ is it going to get cool again?

Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for September, October, and November.

Temperature
This fall, Madison is predicted to experience typical fall temperatures — think light jackets through September and then warmer gear.

Precipitation
Anticipate a little more rainfallautumn is expected to bring 33-40% more precipitation than normal in Madison.

Dancin’ in September
September kicks off fall by bringing more agreeable weather to the city. Temperatures typically range from an average low of 52° to a comfortable average high of 71.1°.

Oh hay, October

In October, temperatures will often stay between 42° and 57°. Here’s something to look forward to — October (along with April) is the least humid month of the year in the 608. Fun fact: The city’s first snowfall of the year typically happens during October.

Nice November
November’s weather serves as a reminder that winter is near, with its average high temps barely reaching 43° — a 15° drop from October. If an average low temperature of 30° doesn’t make you want to curl up in bed, the average of less than five hours of sunlight a day sure will.
