There’s been a recent spike in good volleyball around the Madison area. Add to that a new professional volleyball team that is set to play next summer. League One Volleyball, or LOVB, partnered with its Club Madtown Juniors to launch its first-ever pro training facility in Sun Prairie. (WKOW)

Home runs will be hit in Milwaukee until at least 2050. That’s because Gov. Evers signed a bipartisan bill including more than $500 million in public funds to upgrade American Family Field. With that, it ensures the Milwaukee Brewers will stay in the city. (Wisconsin Public Radio)
Cause
The Urban League of Greater Madison might win $15,000 if they get enough votes. Thrivent Financial’s “Carols for a Cause,” looks to support organizations impacting their communities. The Urban League is one of five organizations in the state vying for the top prize. Voting is open until Saturday, Dec. 9. (Madison365)
Civic
The Porchlight Drop-In Shelter, on Zeier Road, provides emergency overnight shelter to male-identified individuals ages 18 and older. Guests receive two meals per day, personal hygiene supplies, access to showers and bathrooms, and case management services. Take a tour of the facility. (WORT)
Development
St. Ambrose Academy, a Catholic school in Madison, will be the new anchor tenant in the Holy Name Heights apartment building. Located on the west side, it’ll be the only full-time school sharing a building space with a residential apartment building. There are about 58 residential units. (Cap Times)

A busboy at a beloved local restaurant has become the owner. Andrew Shuck was a busboy in his youth at Middleton’s The Village Green restaurant. Now, at the age of 34, he owns it. He recently purchased it from Ron Boyer, the owner for the past 47 years. (Wisconsin State Journal)

If you have a scratch, sometimes it’s best to itch it. Two UW-Madison grads have created Happy Scratch, a nutritional supplement for cats and dogs with seasonal or food allergies. They’re opening a manufacturing facility in Middleton and plan to start taking orders in early 2024. (Cap Times)
Sports
As the Badgers football team heads to the heat of Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl, Camp Randall’s field is being replaced by a heated one. The heating system for the new field will cost roughly $5 million to install. The new turf will be ready for the coming 2024 season. (Channel 3000)
