Now that we adults have our plans and costumes in place, let’s review this year’s trick-or-treating hours in and around Madison.

Sunday, Oct. 29

  • Maple Bluff | 4-6 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

  • Madison | 4-8 p.m.
  • Sun Prairie | 5-7 p.m.
  • Verona | 5-8 p.m.
  • Middleton | 5-8 p.m.
  • Cottage Grove | 4:30-7 p.m.
  • Waunakee | 5-7 p.m.
  • Fitchburg | 4-7 p.m.
  • Monona | 5-8 p.m.

Safety first

Make sure your Halloween is full of treats, not tricks.

  • Drive slow, the streets will be filled with little ones hyped up on sugar
  • Incorporate reflective gear or light-up accessories into your kids’ costumes
  • Map out a route ahead of time with kids who are going without a guardian
  • Homemade treats are great, but it’s better to be safe than sorry, stick to prepackaged store-bought goodies
