The Beijing Olympics are starting this week (Fri., Feb. 4-Sun., Feb. 20) and to get you excited about all of the athletic talent competing this year, we’ve put together a list of 10 Wisconsin athletes to watch this winter.

Check out the schedule + plan your Olympic events watch party in advance. And, don’t forget the Paralympic Games from Fri., March 4-Sun., March 13.

Meet the athletes:

Anna Hoffman | Ski Jumping | Madison, WI

Anna grew up right here in the 608, learning to ski at our very own Blackhawk Ski Club . The 21-year-old will be the lone woman on the ski jumping team this year — be sure to watch her compete in her Olympic premiere during the Women’s Normal Hill event this Sat., Feb. 5.

Alex Cavallini | Ice Hockey | Delafield, WI

This year’s games will be the second Olympic appearance for the former UW-Badger captain + goalie. Along with setting multiple records during her career at UW-Madison, Alex has earned multiple international awards including an Olympic gold medal from PyeongChang in 2018.

Matt Hamilton | Curling | McFarland, WI

Matt + his epic mustache will also be returning to the games for the second time — following Team Schuster’s gold medal performance in 2018. The McFarland native will shoot for gold with the final event being on Matt’s 33rd birthday — Sat., Feb. 19.
