Last week, we asked for your advice on which Madison locals we should be following online. Here’s some of what you said.

Photographers

Isthmus Portrait (Chris Collins) | As part of his #608strangers project, Collins captures portraits and stories of Madisonians he meets around town.

Samuel Li | Beyond photography, some of Li’s videography projects include “Winter in Wisconsin,” a celebration of the beauty that comes with Madison’s most notorious season.

Pete Souza | Based in Madison, Souza is the former chief official White House photographer for Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama and is the former director of the White House Photography Office.

The Gin Pennant | Hosts of exclusive cocktail tasting parties, the organization is run by two UW-Madison professors.

Bria Lemirande | This TikTok creator shares her favorite Wisconsin food spots with her nearly 2 million followers.

Pasture & Plenty | The organization recently received a grant to offer after-school cooking classes for local youth.

Artists

Bounty | Not quite an art installation, not quite a vintage store, this place on Park Street is certainly a destination.

Hatch Art House | The eco-friendly art gallery on Willy Street showcases only Wisconsin-based artists.

Wild Hunt Prints | Laurie Hunt, just outside of Madison, has created her own illustration and printmaking studio.

Musicians

Carrellee | Native to Madison, this electronic synth-pop musician plays all over the states, but likes playing locally at Crystal Corner and Mickey’s.

Deep Dive | This local indie-rock band explores young adult relationships with a pleasing splashy vibe.

Sam Ness | The Sauk City native is a singer-songwriter whose soulful tunes have won him the Madison Area Music Awards’ Album of the Year, as well as the Folk/Rock/Americana Song of the Year.
