By fall, Madison will be even more bike-friendly with the addition of a singletrack trail at Sycamore Park on the east side.

Rock Solid Trail Construction is currently building a 1.5-mile trail near the Sycamore Dog Park at 4517 Sycamore Ave. The trail will be bike-optimized with natural surfaces. It will also be suitable for hiking, walking, and snowshoeing.

Project details include:

  • It will be covered with a natural stone chip seal surface, as well as native soil, stone, and wood
  • It’s being constructed to minimize erosion, create a firm tread, and protect trees
  • Trail difficulty is proposed to be in the “easy” to “moderate” range
  • After the trail is complete, the disturbed areas will be restored by the City’s Parks Division
