Looking to shake up your local dining routine? You’re in luck. A handful of new local restaurants are now open or are coming soon to Madison.
Ama Kitchen | 809 Williamson St.
This spot, owned by the son of the Himal Chuli owner, opened in early June. Its versatile menu features classic American breakfast fare and traditional Nepali dinners.
Lacy’s Cafe | 2262 Winnebago St.
Lacy Rude of Rude Brew Kombucha has taken over the space at Bur Oak that once was home to Ahan. This snack bar sells goodies from local spots like Madison Chocolate Company, Heirloom Bakery, and (of course) Rude Brew Kombucha.
Mint Mark | 1874 E. Washington Ave.
Now open at its new spot in The Standard, this popular small plates restaurant is currently hiring line cooks and servers.
Molten Monkey Pizza | 912 E. Johnson St.
By September, Madison will have a new Detroit-style pizza place thanks to the co-owner of the former Ale Asylum. Otto Dilba is opening Molten Monkey in the building where Salvatore’s used to be, apparently a hot spot for pizza.
Do you guys prefer thin or thick-crust pizza? I’m a big fan of Detroit-style (and thick-crust pizza in general), but everyone in my life prefers pizza crust to be cracker-thin. Oh well, more Molten Monkey Pizza for me.
