Closing
Middleton’s Sun Nuclear Corporation facility is closing. The layoffs, beginning the end of August, will affect 39 employees. Sun Nuclear provided patient safety solutions for diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy centers. (In Business)

Exploring Wisconsin’s natural areas just got easier thanks to the Wisconsin DNR’s new Public Access Lands (PAL) app. PAL allows users to locate and find information on properties open for public use.

The Midwest Log Rolling Championship rolls into Madison
Where: Wingra Park and Boat Livery, 824 Knickerbocker St.
What: Some of the greatest lumberjack athletes in the world will vie to become champion. Donations will be given to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Wisconsin Chapter.
Winners in this weekend’s competition can attend the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, Wisconsin, taking place Thursday, Aug.1-Saturday, Aug. 3.

Madison Log Rolling offers classes, camps, and private lessons for all ages and skill levels. On Lake Wingra, the season runs June through August, and indoor sessions are available during the colder months.
Being a writer, the thought of writing an actual book comes to my mind from time to time (all the time). A personal challenge: write a Wisconsin-themed book this year, maybe something like Wisconsin Death Trip, and have it on local bookstore shelves by 2026. Mark my words.
