Which Madison park is your go-to spot to connect with nature? | 608today
The City of Madison wants your help to complete the 2025-2030 Parks and Open Space Plan.

What is it?

This planning document is used to “guide and inform public parks policy and park facility decisions.” Essentially, it’s a handbook created by city employees using a public input process to improve our parks through the lenses of equity, public health, adaptability, and sustainability.

Goals for past plans included:
  • Increase connectivity between parks via pedestrian, bike, and water trails
  • Improve and preserve the unique ecosystems in conservation parks
  • Promote winter recreation opportunities
  • Preserve and enhance historic parks
  • Prioritize acquisition of land adjacent to existing parkland

Drop-in sessions

Now that you have a better idea of what the Parks and Open Space Plan is, stop by one of the remaining drop-in sessions to give your input. Each open house session lasts two hours, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
What do you want to see for the future of Madison’s parks and open spaces? Let us know.

The UW-Madison Police Department does not take kindly to sunburst chair theft. Each chair is worth $250, but if you’re caught with a stolen chair you can expect at least a $500 fine. Luckily, you can buy mini terrace chairs (and tables!) online as well as full-size furniture.
