The city’s Plan Commission voted to stop the demolition of three buildings on the 400 block of State Street for a proposed 6-story, 26-unit multi-use apartment complex. The developer, JD McCormick Properties, is mulling legal action. (Cap Times)

The Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball team hosts Illinois State tonight at 7 p.m. for the Super 16 round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). This marks Wisconsin’s first WNIT appearance since 2011. Fans can watch live on B1G+.

Madison-based Forage Kitchen will open a new location in Sun Prairie in April. The fast-casual eatery, serving grain bowls, salads, and soups will open at 2824 Prairie Lakes Dr. This will be its eighth location, with five in Madison. (Channel 3000)

UW-Madison research projects are getting a $56 million infusion thanks to the passage of two federal appropriation packages. Funded initiatives include $28.75 million for the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center and $10 million for biomedical research addressing traumatic brain injuries.

On Monday, April 1, the Streets Division drop-off sites on South Point Road and Sycamore Avenue will kick off summer hours. The special drop-off site on East Olin Avenue will open at 3 p.m.
Traffic
Hammersley Road, off of South Whitney Way and near the Beltline, will close starting Monday, April 1. The city is replacing underground utilities and reconstructing the roadway. It will remain closed to thru traffic until late June, with the project completed by November.
