Imagine: A museum hall adorned with beautiful embroidery that mimics the intricacies of nature. “Suspended Landscapes” is an exhibition created by Amanda McCavour which depicts Wisconsin’s flora in various embroidery installations. See the show currently on display at the Chazen Museum of Art.

McCavour is known for “drawing with thread,” a medium for using fabric to create her work. Her hanging thread installation — Ode to a Prairie, 2022 — is an impressive showcase of this skilled craftsmanship.

The exhibition will be closing on Sun., Sept. 11. Be sure to check it out before it’s too late. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
