Overture Center’s 2022 International Festival

The International Festival is returning to Overture Center, this Sat., March 19 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Come together to sing, dance, and explore more than 25 events celebrating the cultures and diversity of 30+ countries that make up the Madison community. The best part? All programs and performances during the festival are free of charge.

Below are just a few events highlighting the 30+ artists and 15 vendors all over the Overture Center. You can find the full schedule to plot your own course and celebrate the festival in your own way.

Pro tip: For anyone unavailable to attend the festival in-person, Overture will be live streaming the event on Facebook + offering virtual access to local schools and educators.

Musical performances:

  • Yid Vicious | 11:15-11:55 a.m. | Overture Center, Main Lobby | Yiddish folk music to dance and celebrate.
  • Männerchor | 1:15-1:40 p.m. | Playhouse | Wisconsin’s oldest German men’s choir.

  • Taiwan Puppet Troupe of UW | 12-12:40 p.m. | Rotunda Stage | The Taiwanese folk art of glove-type puppetry.
  • Magnetic Maps | 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. | Promenade Terrace | Mark the maps with your cultural heritage and current home.

Between performances and events — or anytime really — swing by the International Cafe located in the Overture Hall Lobby to sample world cuisines made by local experts including Toast, Yakarta Cafe, the Italian Workmen’s Club + more.
