This Fri., May 6 from 5-9 p.m., the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) kicks off Gallery Night — which features venues around the Madison area that will have original artworks to view and buy, artist talks, demonstrations + live music and performances. The best part? All venues participating in Gallery Night are open free of charge.

Below are just a few of the 75 participating venues around Madison + the events they are hosting throughout the night. You can find the full list of participating venues to pick your own route and celebrate Gallery Night in your own way.

Downtown

  • 100state | 17 S. Fairchild St. | Peruse a mix of local artists’ work, watch a live painting session + enjoy complimentary refreshments accompanied by a live pianist.
  • Madison Museum of Contemporary Art | 227 State St. | View the three exhibits currently on display — one of which has been curated by MMoCA’s Teen Forum.
  • The Garver Gallery | 18 S. Bedford St. | Stop by for a look at the masterful oil paintings done by artist Gregg Kruetz.

Atwood + Winnebago

  • Eli’s Art & Art Supplies | 2346 E. Washington Ave. | Support the alternative art supplies provider plus explore a mix of street and mural art styles.
  • Marzen/Integrated Art Group | 2345 Atwood Ave. | View The Illusion of Permanence — a series of sculptures + paintings by Wisconsin native Thomas Ferrella.
  • Olbrich Botanical Gardens | 3330 Atwood Ave. | See the cyanotype installation in the outdoor gardens and stick around for an artist talk + paper making demo at 6:30 p.m.

Willy Street + East Washington

  • Arts + Literature Laboratory | 111 S. Livingston St. | Explore MFA thesis exhibitions + stick around for artist talks beginning at 6 p.m.
  • Cornucopia, Inc. | 2 S. Ingersoll St. | Engage with members of the arts + wellness center uplifting community members in mental health and substance use recovery.
  • Hatch Art House | 1234 Williamson St. | Join the eco-friendly gallery and gift shop for a night of pottery + celebrating local makers.

Monroe + Regent

  • Art Gecko on Monroe | 1725 Monroe St. | Come hangout at the outdoor block party with art for sale, music + giveaways.
  • Bloom Bake Shop | 1851 Monroe St. | Hear from boutique photographer Shalicia Johnson and enjoy refreshments from the bakery.
