What to expect: Run Madtown street closures

Runners are taking over the roads this weekend.

Plan ahead — there will be various street closures downtown for this weekend’s Run Madtown races. Check out the race maps, affected streets, and be prepared to detour around these areas.

Saturday, May 27 | 5K | Starts 7 p.m. at Library Mall
Main roads affected:

  • Observatory Drive
  • University Avenue at North Charter Street
  • West Washington Avenue
  • North Charter Street
  • Capitol Square

Sunday, May 28 | 10k and Half Marathon | Starts 7 a.m. at Library Mall
Main roads affected:

  • North Park Street at Southwest Commuter Path
  • Monroe Street
  • Old University Avenue
  • Capitol Square

At intersections along the routes, police and volunteers will be present to ensure smooth coordination. Vehicles will be permitted to cross when there are openings among the runners.
Metro Transit riders should check out the detours page, as routes will be affected by the races.
