Does your furry friend need a furry friend? You’re in luck. This month, a few local animal shelters are participating in NBCUniversal’s Clear the Shelters campaign.

This August, NBCUniversal Local is partnering with numerous shelters nationwide for Clear The Shelters, an initiative focused on pet adoption and donations. The campaign aims to match animals in need with caring homes and has successfully placed over 860,000 pets in permanent residences since its inception in 2015.

Each week this month, DCHS will run a special promotion. This week, through Sunday, Aug. 6, cats are 50% off.

Stop by one of the five adoption fairs this month, the first of which being tomorrow from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Earthwise Pet Supply 3260 University Ave.
