Calling all soccer fans. Forward Madison FC has a packed schedule this season, and we’ve got the inside scoop on how to get back inside Breese Stevens Field and cheer on the Flamingos.

Here are five things fans won’t want to miss this season:

The Home Opener

There’s nothing quite like the return of soccer season. Forward Madison FC’s Home Opener is happening on Sat., April 9 at 7 p.m. against defending USL League One champions Union Omaha. Pro tip: The club is currently offering a Home Opener Ticket package ($39) that includes a ticket to the match, a FMFC winter hat, and a pair of winter gloves. Use code “SNOWOPENER” at checkout to take advantage of the discount.

There are several ways to experience a Forward Madison FC match and cheer on the Flamingos. Whether you’re watching from a Premier Suite, sitting in the Skyline, or from the rooftop, Breese Stevens Field provides a one-of-a-kind fan experience. Pair that with the loud, passionate fans, and you’re bound to feel the energy.

Bonus: The Flock End of the stadium was recently updated. Check out the new nacho + BBQ stand and a mini pitch for kids to play soccer on. Fans should also be on the lookout for the opening of the Forward Club in May. This 120-person club space is perfect for watch parties and private events.

The bike valet

Ditch the car and ride your bike to a game. Forward Madison FC recently partnered with Trek Bicycle to redesign the bike valet + parking area at the stadium. The free service includes safe bike storage, electric bike charging stations, and a tune-up station. Simply drop your bike off with a bike attendant at the gate on Mifflin St. before the match.

The significance of flamingos

Did you know? In 2009, the City of Madison declared the pink lawn flamingo the city’s official bird. And in 2018, Forward Madison FC made it the team’s official mascot. Here’s a little history lesson on how a tropical bird became an important symbol in Mad City.

Where to watch if you can’t make it to the stadium

Pubs are an important part of Madison’s culture. Forward Madison and The Flock partners with local pubs to create an immersive experience for fans on game day, both home and away. These special events feature pre- and post-match celebrations and serve as the official viewing locations for all away matches. Follow The Flock on social media for more information about watch parties.*
