Next weekend — Friday, May 10-Saturday, May 11 — thousands of current Badgers will join the UW-Madison alum club. We’ve rounded up some need-to-know info, whether you’re attending graduation weekend festivities or not.

If you’re not attending

Take note of when and where each ceremony is taking place:

  • Friday, May 10 | 5:30 p.m. | Kohl Center, 601 W. Dayton St. | Doctoral, MFA, and medical professional degree candidates.
  • Saturday, May 11 | 12 p.m. | Camp Randall, 1440 Monroe St. | Bachelor’s, law, and master’s degree candidates.

Reminder: The farmers’ market will be on the Square from 6:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, so expect an extra uptick in parking and traffic woes.

If you’re attending

Parking in most campus lots will be free throughout the weekend, and a complimentary shuttle will run every 10 minutes from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on commencement days.

Pro tip: If you’re not used to driving around campus, download the parking and shuttle maps to better familiarize yourself with the area.

Guest seating for each ceremony is first-come, first-served. Neither ceremony is ticketed, and each graduate can have as many guests as they want present.

Prohibited items include:

  • Noisemakers
  • Flags, banners, and signs
  • Bags larger than 8.5x11 in.
  • Food and beverages
  • Strollers

Not able to make it? The ceremonies will be livestreamed on YouTube.
