Do you have a hedgehog that you can’t take care of anymore? A bearded lizard that doesn’t quite fit into the family dynamic? A canary that sings a little too much? J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, based in Neenah, is here to help.

What: A no-questions-asked exotic pet surrender event
When: Saturday, March 23 | 12-3 p.m.
Where: Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 330 Femrite Dr., Monona

Accepting

  • Fish
  • Invertebrates
  • Pet birds
  • Plants
  • Reptiles
  • Small mammals

Not accepting

  • Cats
  • Chickens
  • Dogs
  • Guinea pigs
  • Pigs
  • Rabbits

Note: If you have a domestic animal that you can no longer care for, inquire with local shelters and rescues. We recently highlighted several of them.

After a brief quarantine period, the animals surrendered at this weekend’s event will be available for adoption.
