Do you have a way with words? Are you looking for ways to get more involved in the community? Do you have a passion for the arts? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may fit the bill to become Madison’s next Poet Laureate.

First, read up on what a Poet Laureate is and Madison’s Youth Poet Laureate program

Then, submit your nomination by Wednesday, September 27, 2024.

The nomination will include...

  • Six to ten poems
  • A CV detailing nominee’s education, published works, performance history, and community involvement
  • One to three-page essay on how the nominee will leverage connections to create poetry opportunities in Madison
  • Three references
  • Proof of Madison residency
  • A signed statement from the nominee confirming intent to accept the nomination and live in Madison during their term
